CORRESPONDENCE.
We aye not responsibe for the statement* or opinions of correspondent?. (to the editor of the manawatc herald;. Sir, — As there -appears t* be a great difference of opinion as to who would have won the final heat for Hunter's cup, Thompson or myself, providing the race had been rowed out clear of mishap. On the other hand a gentleman has publicly offered to back Thompson to row me over the same course and on the same terms as our last race for five or ten pounds a-side. I am sorry to say our Club rules prevent as rowing for money, otherwise nothing would give we greater pleasure. But one thing lam willing to do. I will put up the two silver medals won by my brother and myself in the outrigger race, against the sleeve links won by Thompson, providing Thompson is willing. I will row Thompson over the same, course, ,in the same boats, any day next week, or at any time Thompson may think fit to appoint. Trusting, sir, I have not taken, up too much space in your valuable columns. « I urn, &c, A. Langlet. Foxton, 19th March, 1892.
