He could not understand how the Commissioners came to give the electorate the name of Otaki, he would move the following resolution ; — That this < ouncil ask the Foxton Borough Council to join it in protesting against this electorate being known as the Otaki. The electors think it desirable the electorate should be called the Foxton. That the representative Committee be asked to reconsider the matter, this electorate having been known as the Foxton electorate in the past. He considered the boundaries should have been selected to prevent different interests clashing. It was absurd to connect the Wellington suburbs with this district. We must agitate or people would say that we were satisfied. He referred to the articles appearing in the newspapers. Cr Masters seconded the resolution. The Chairman said there was no doubt that the electorate was a very peculiar shaped one. No doubt the interests of those living on the other side of Paikaikariki would clash a bit with those on this side. The resolution on being put was carried unanimously.
