Foxton Racing Club.

» A meeting of the Committee was held at the club's room last night. Present : — Messrs J. B. Bnssell, (in the chair) F. GK Andrews, (Hon. Secretary), T. P. Williams, W. G. Robinson, W. B. Rhodes, J. H. Robinson and E S. Thynne. The minutes of the laat meeting were read and confirmed. Resolvrd, That a copy of the N. Z # Stud Book be o >tamed from Mr Baker. A letter was read from Mr Freeman Jackson the Secretary of the Wanganui Jockey Club stating that he had brought up the matter of tho Wellington Racing Club having taken the Foxton Racing Club's day of meeting, " but they declined to interfere m the matter as it was not within their province to deal with.' ' Resolved, That the distance of the F. R. C Handicap be reduced from If to 1 i miles and that the Steward's Stakes from H to 1£ mi'es. The Chairman alluded to Mr Andrews retirement from the office of Secretary for a time, he being about to visit Kng'and. Tho Chairman expressed on behalf of the Committee the regret they felt at his leaving, but trusted he would enjoy his holiday and when lie returned would resume his interest in the Cub. Mr Andrews admitted that he had always taken much inte>est in racing mattei a, and felt much obliged for the kind remarks made He did not doubt but that the Uub would get along as we 1 with Mr Bussell as Secretary.
