The Work of the Session.
Ou Wednesday afternoon the Speaker laid on the table the usual schedule ot business transacted during the session. Tho House met on 57 days, and sat 505 hours, of which 7B were after midnight. The dai'y average was 8| hours. There were 238 diyisions, 465 question asked, 976 entries in the Journals, and 90 orders for papers; Two hundred and thirty-two papers were laid on the ta'>le, of which 157 were pr nted. Three hundred and eighty nine reports were received from Select Committees, the F'ublic Petitions Committee (A. to L) being the largest contributor with 05. The number of petitions presented was 308, of which 95 were Maoris. The total numb"r of Select Committees was 27. The public Acts which passed both Houses and received the Royrl assent were 62 in number, and 86 were dropped or otherwise disposed of. Two private Sills were passed.
