Gisborne, Feb. 25. The Premier went out in the after noon to Ormond, making that his headquarters, Major Porter and i Major Messenger went back there and had a consultation with the Premier, and returned to the camp late in the evening. - The troops moved forward at 11 this ino-ning, and will camp this evening on the ed^e of the Motu Bush. The constables were sent forward to the Motu Bridge, which is well in the bush, to prevent either Natives or Europeans passing without a permit. The Waitemata Navals offered 75 men for immediate service on the East Coast. The Premier thanked them and, if necessary, would accept their offer. *'ihe Native Minister has made inquiries of the Northern Steamship Company regarding a steamer if necessary to convey troops to the East Coast. Probably 25 of the Permanent Force and a balance of police and Volunteers to 100 men will be sent.
