WELLINGTON WASTE LANDS BOARD.

The Board met on Thursday. We collate the following items of interest to this district from the N. Z. Times :— A transfer of deferred payments, section No. 316, Block 111., of the Oroua Survey District, from Isaac Howell to Johann Heinrich Bar, -was approved. The chairman read an application from Mr W. Kirk, that personal residence on section 41, Block VII, Manganne, might be dispensed with for four years from date, which was approved, as also was a similar application from .Tohan Zaionskowsky in respect of section No. 313. A letter was read from the Under-Secretary of Crown Lands, dated the 4th instant, on the subject of Mr Snelson's application to conduce auction sales of Crown lands, and stated that it had been the established rule elsewhere that the Commissioners of Crown lands should personally conduct auch sales. The letter expressed a hope that the Board would agree with the G!o---vernment in the matter. The suggestion was complied with. Plans of the Kairanga Block (Palmerston and Fitzherbert) with a schedule of prices for cash and deferred payments, comprising 109 sections, were submitted ; and it was resolved that 80 of them should be offered for sale by public auction, at the Town Hall, Palmerston, on Thursday, the 24th February next, and that the remaining 29, subject to the approval of the Governor, be gazetted as open to purchase by application on deferred payments, on Monday, the 21st Feb. next, at the Land Office, Wellington, and the Town Hall, Palmerston.
