FOXTON SCHOOL COMMITTEE
The Committee met at the Athemeum on Monday last, Jat 2.45 p.m. PresentMessrs Gray (Chairman), Whyte, Stewart, and Liddell. Letter toad from Messrs Russell Bros., asking to be informed of the date of the meetings. Upon the motion of Mr Whyto, the request was granted. The Chairman reported that Miss M'Phee began her duties as mistress on Thursday August 14. The Chairman stated the Inspector hvl urged the desir»bility of the compulsory clauses being put into operation. He sug - gested a notice should be inserted in the local journal warning parents. A resolution to that effect was carried. The- Chairman brought up the question of the mistress' status, as it appeared she had been appointed assistant. Several members remarked they understood the master wished the pchool to be divided. It was resolved to ask the Board what status Miss M'Phee held, and what salary she would receive. It w;is resolved to send several accounts to the Board for payment. A small account for petty cash was also passed. The Committee then adjourned
