LICENSING COURT
(Before U. Ward, Esq, R.M., and Messrs J. T, Stewart, H, Sanson, and J. F. RockritroW). A sitting of this Court «vasheldat 2 p.m. ou Wednesday. APPLICATION FOII LICENSE. James Reid Anderson, applied for a license for a new house, to be called the Cheltenham Hotel, just erected at Cheltenham, iii the Kiwiteti Blook. The application was supported by an address, signed by 17 householders, in the district. Mr Me Lean appeared in support of the application, which was not opposed by the police. j The Bench having fully considered the matter, resolved that they would grant the application &t tha June sitting, the house accommodation and stabling being sn the meantime completed. TRANSFER. An application for the transfer of the license of the Junction Hotel, Sanson, from Joseph Oakley, to Thomas Ensor, was next heard. No obfection was urged by the police. In answer to enquiries from the Bench, the applicant slated that he had been engaged 14 years in the trade in New Zealand. < Mr Sanson said the hotel had been well conducted since Mr Ensor had assumed possession. The transfer was granted. This concluded the business, and the Court adjourned.
