He hoped under tho circumstances tho Bench would take d lenient view of the case, as no intent to defraud the revenue was intendod by his client. Sub-Inspector Qoodall said he would not preßS for v heavy penalty, but stated tnat tho defendant had been careless in not enquiring into tho law relating to public houses when taking pobnession.
