After the meeting of ratepayers, a second meeting was hold, to eon* sider the new time table for the railway. Mr Thjnne (County Chairman) presided. MrG. W. Eussell briefly informed the meeting of tho purport of the time table, and proposed, " That a telegraphic request be forwarded at once to the Government, asking, in the interest of the port and. district of Manawatu, for equal facilities, both as regards goods and passenger trains as are proposed to be given to Wan* gauui." Hesaid the new arrangement virtually divided the line into two parts, and if separation was intended; as it appeared to be, a manager should be appointed for Manawatu alone. The proposal waa seconded by Mr Crowther, and carried. Seconded by Mr Cook and carried. A deputation was appointed. Mr Loudon proposed " That a telegram be sent to Mr Johnston, asking if any sum is down for Mana watu Harbor Works this year." He pointed out what had been done, and urged those present to try aad Ret the money put on the Estimates this year. The Chairman remarked that he had written upon tho subject to Mr Johnston. The pioposal was seconded by Mr Thompson, and carried. Tho meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the Chairman.
