WASHINGTON, Oct. 22.

The Lend-Lease Administrator, Mr Stettinius, announced that a contract had been let for the construction of the full-sized "seamobile," the redesigned petrol-driven ship, formerly called the "Sea-otter," which was the centre of a storm of controversy for over a year, some contending that it was the answer to the submarine menace, others that it was wholly impracticable. Mr Stettinius said that when the vessel was eompleted and thoroughly tested he would know whether more Seamobiles would be built or not. His aim was to give this novel vessel every fair chance to prove its worth.
