REGISTERED NURSES
LOCAL ANNUAL MEETING-. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The twelfth annual meeting of the Marlborough branch of the Registered Nurses' Association was held in the Plunket rooms this week, the president, Miss N. H. Retemeyei*, being in the chair. Miss Retemeyer's report was adopted. The total number of members now stood at 47. During the year talks were presented by Miss Lewis (a former president),' Miss Philpotts and Captain Halstedd, all of which were greatly appreciated. This year a central fund" was opened for the purpose of providing fmancial assistance for nurses/ at home or overseas who might be temporarily or permanently incapacitated. The fund was now over £200, which was largely the result of a splendid effort by members. It was signified that members were willing to assist at the Services Club and had taken their turn in conducting the fortnightly Services' dance. Those present at the meeting were Mesaames Jackson, Duncan, Storey, Fenwick and Paynter, Misses Tominson, Retemeyer, Bush, Stevenson, Woods, Haswell and Murphy. The election of the council for the following year resulted: President, Miss Tomlinson; vice-presidents, Mrs Storey and Miss Philpotts; secretary and assistant-secretary, Miss Stevenson and Mrs Paynter, with the addition of Misses Retemeyer, Woods, Eush and Murphy and Mrs Fenwick. — V— —
