WORLD'S GREATEST NAVY.
COLONEL KNOX'S PROMISE.

NEW YORK, Oct. 19.
Next year the United States will turn out a greater Navy than any nation has ever possessed, Colonel Knox, the Navy Secretary, told an audience at Manchester, (New Hampshirej. He added: "That is true, as to both the number and the balance of types of ships." Its only equal would be the combined United States and British navies at the beginning of the war.
