TEMPERANCE UNION.

MEETING AT TUA MARINA. The monthly meeting of the Tua Marina branch of the Women's Christian Temperance Union was held in the Sunday school, the president presiding over an attendance of 23. Mrs Robinson led in Devotions. The president welcomed Miss Andrews, the Dominion organiser, ancl 11 visitors to_the meeting. Miss Andrews and Mrs Lucas were presented with shoulder sprays. Arrangements were made for the annual meeting and "bring and buy" to be held at Mrs Borck's home on November 17. The roll call was responded to by 12 members. Miss Andrews then gave an inter ■ •esting talk on her work in trying to educate young people about alcohol and the evils associated with it. She asked her hearers if they thought it worth while for the W.C.T.U. to send her out on this work, and urged them, if so, to j'oin up and help to bring about a better standard for , the children to follow. A hearty vote of thanks to Miss Andrews. was proposed and carried by acclamation. Mesdames D. and H. Knight gave a pleasing item which was much enjoyed, and a hymn and the Benediction brought a helpful meeting to a close.
