LONDON, Sept, 30. "South Africa is a black spot as regards women's status" faid Aiiss Eidden, addressing the British Commonwealth League. Slie advocated that Mr Herfczog, when attend'ing the Imperial Ccnferenoe, shoukl be heckled and worried in all possible ways for tlie purpose of persuading him of the necessity for enfraitcliising women. Alrs Corbett Ashby, wlro presided, declared that the opiujons pf 'women, throughout- tlie Empire regarding migration and nationality oUght to be represented at the Imperial Conference. S'he suggested that the League should arrlange a deputatioii to the Empire Premiers. The meeting carried .a resolutibn urging tlie Imperial Conference to consider remedying thfe injustice where women are clisenfranchised, as in South Afrlpa, o® partially franehisecl as in Britain, also- to accept arbitratioii to settle international disputes.
