WASHINGTOX. Sept. 26', It is understood that the general method's of mass production used in the United States may not .be applicable to Australia, which lacks the tremendous oonsuming_ popnlation existing in America. It is corisequently supposed that the Australian, stucly will be along different lines from those of British, Germaii, and other foreign observers, who studied American irwlustriat organisation during the past summer. Experts here point out the following subjeots which may be observed by the Australian visitors with great advantage : First, plant management, which has been developed to a state of high efficiency, particularly the relations between foremen and workmen. Seeond, a system of employee ownership. Therei Is a. ,growing tendency in the United States for employees to purchase' stock and sliare the prolits in concerus in which they are employed. Third, American marketing methods, especially the extension of deferred payments and the plan of sale and retail to consumers. Foiirth, the American railway system, with its unusual faeilities for inter-State distribution of products.
