PEKIN . Sept. 26. Tlie Russo-Asiatic Bank, oue of tlie oldest bankiug institiitions in China, is goinjg into voluntary 1 iquiclation and will remain closed pending the appointment of a redeiver. The management anuounced to-day that no official statement would be macle, but its noites are Being rofused iri. all parts of Shanghal and the Chinese city, causiug a panic among; local notediolders. The bank was brought into existence by an agreement between the Chinese and Russian Governments during the Romanoff regime, but its affairs became involved aft§r the overthrow of the Imperial Russian rulers. It Was the official institution of the Chinese Government, which was one of the largest subscribers.
