The eighthour day will continue withoit any overtime, and at least the same pay as for the full six-da-y week will be assuied." Mr Ford's announoement points ort : "This decision in favor of a forty-liour week is not sudden. We have been going towards it for three or four years. We have been feeling our wa.y and now we know from experienco that sho-rter hours ia'nd high pressure production pay a full week's wage for a short vveek's work and ensure better methods. This country is prepared for a fiveday week. It is bound to corrie through all industry. Just as the eighfc-hour day opened our way toprosperity in America so- the fiveday week will open our way to still gieater prosperity."
