Knight left his wife with only £20 Knight's application to the Victorian Government, dated November 21st, states that he was brought up to farm work until manhood, and that he was then employed as a clerk till 1912. He had also spent some time in poultry-ifarming. Mr Cobett, Knight's curate, states that a blank marriage certificate is missing from the. church books. Miss Suffell states that Knight said he thought the parish would provide for his wife if he was believed to be dead.
