COMPLAINT PROM WAIKAIA.
. <». TO THE EDITOR. SlB, — When passing a small fancy goods store in Blaydon street yesterday, my attention was drawn to a crowd of school.cliildren amusing themselves by inspecting a rudely drawn picture bearing an inscription at fdot couched in most profane language and totally unfit for exhibition. On stopping to inspect it. I cavight a few sentences of the conversation carried on witbin the building, which j waR quite' as objectionablo as tha picture I abovementioned. I think, Mr Editor, that it is . quite time the police took steps to stop any further exhibition of such profane 'and disgusting pictures, not only, for common decency's sake, but also on account of the number of little children passing and repassing the shop in on their way to and from school.— l am, &c, , , . • Matbefajiilias. .Waikaia, Nov. 23, 1883^ -• ■ .
