DAWSON v. M'INTYRE.
TO THH BDITOB. SlB, — I do not think Mr Stewart should take exception to your report of this case. During the cross-examination of the defendant, Mr Stewart made his first attack on the absent witnesses (one absent on account of ill-health), and I then strongly protested against his statements. These statements he repeated on my application for an adjournment. It was on the first occasion he '• assumed " what " Mr Pattison insinuated," not on the second occasion. The first |occasion ia not reported, the > second is. — I am, etc., W. Hbndbrson, Gore, 26th Nov., 1883.
