THE ENSIGN AND TAPANUI.
TO THE EDITOB. Sir, — Take my advice and leave our "buster'"' alone. When excited its editor is dangerous, and if you annoy him he may go to great lengths. Posaibly he may hire a special, and armed with a bludgeon bear down upon the mighty town of G-ora and annihilate both the Ensign and the Tillage. He's a powerful man. Physique is in his favor ; and if you are a little fellow the consequenceß might be serious. Beware how you tread on his tail. Our lion can roar, but it is qnestionable whether he can do much else. He says you deserve to be metaphorically kicked for libelling Tapanui. This shows his discretion. So lons as the kicks are only metaphorical ©nea neither you nor he need care. Two can play at that game with the most perfect equan iinity, I should imagine. •«> I am, &c, Quinine. Tapanui, May 18, 1883.
