TREE PLANTING.

I ♦ TO THE EDITOR. Sire, — X wns glud to sco an article in your issue of Tuesday last on the subjeot of Tree Piaming. It is timely, and the residents of this town might, do well to follow your suggestions. Especially raiglifc the Town Board give some attention to the matter. It is quite in keeping with the functions of such a body. The expenso would be small compared with the benefits to be derived. If nothing else could be planted, surely a supply of willows and poplars could be obtained, and in a soil so suitable for trees of this nature, the growth would be rapid, nnd in a short time the bareness of our streets would be a thing of the past. Some slight; protection would be necessary at firs*-, but this nned not eosfc very much. Hoping you will not let. this qtiostion subside until so mo practical stops have been taken m the matter, — I am, &o , Resident, G-ore, May 19, 1883.
