SPRING CREEK V. HAVELOCK.

To the Editor,

Sir, —On behalf of the Spring Creek Cricket Club, I wish to correct a statement which appeared in the Express of Tuesday, asserting to the Eleven who played against Havelock on Monday last, was a “Combined Marlborough Team playing under the title of Spring Creek.” This like many other things which are constantly appearing in that veracious sheet is quite untrue, as the eleven who played are all members of tlie Club, eight of whom have resided in the Spring Creek district for some years. Possibly the local was inspired by that electrical gentleman who displayed such bad taste, in sending congratulatory telegrams to tlie Havelock Team expressing is joy at the defeat of the Creekites.—i ill &c., T. A. Dickens, Secretary, Spring Creek C.C.
