THE WAKAMARINA ROAD.
To tiie Editor. ■Srii.- —The miners of Wakamariiia were given to understand, through your columns that the sum of L3OO was granted for a road from Canvas Town to Peep Creek. This was stated some 4 months ago’; Tim work has advanced as far as the survey, ami died there. After 1(3 long years anxiously waiting, we are still in the mud, and the only consolation we have is the satisfaction of reading the exact distance we have to paddle through it knee deep upon the survey peg which we hoartly thank Mr (4. S. M. (ilaslicu for. They have stood through all the kite stormy weather, and the figures arc still legible, hut 1 am sorry to say the pack horses are disturbing their long repose. We fancy them must be something behind the scenes, or siUvly we would not he in the mud so long.—l am &c\, A Mixer, Wakamarina, Nov. loth, ISSO. [ We have made enquiries respecting this road, and arc given to understand, that is intended to go on with the work which lias certainly been delayed a very long time, and it is no wonder that the miners are complaining about it. —Ei».
