PELORUS ROAD BOARD.

Tin: Board met at Havelock on the fith instant, Mr W. E. Dive in the chair. Ihe minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed and the following resolutions .were passed : That Mr Caw to he informed that the Inspector will report on the proposed line of road round Cullen’s point, but they have little hopes of being in a position to carry out the work. . That Messrs Brownlee he authorised to supply the following goods to MrOvic, viz. ] Olhs'‘Hour, 21bs sugar, 3oz. tea, 71bs meat weekly, the account to he rendered to the Board monthly. That Mr Adams he informed that the Board have not forgotten his claim, and that surveyors are instructed to complete the survey and prepare a plan that will he accepted by the Government. That the Board urge the to push on with the road work now the fine weather is on, and trust. there will he no more delay in prosecuting this important matter. The Board also wish to draw the attention of the Government to the very inferior quality of the road metal used in places by some of the contractors. That the Government Inspector in the district be requested to have the gravel pits filled up as soon as possible after the contractors have ceased using them. 'That the sum of L2 he paid to Bluchor and Mason for falling the hush at Ruapaka. That the Inspector he instructed to attend to the road between Turner’s and Hughes,’ Upper Pelorus. That the Marlborough Times be given a portion of the Board’s printing and advertising. That regarding Mr Cullen’s application the Board wish to refer to the Fencing Act before deciding what they will do, hut they have no wish to rescind any permission given to him previously. That the road near Dangerous Creek and through section 3G can be improved by taking the old cleared line, and that: the// Inspector’s attention be directed to the same. That the question re the Board’s departmental expenses be postponed until the next meeting. That the Board adjourn until the 3rd ? November.
