STOCK SALES.
MATAMATA. Dalgety and Co., Ltd.. held their usual stock sale at Matamata on Wednesday. There was an exceptionally good yarding of first-class cattle, ' the empty heifer classes being particularly well represented. In spite of [ the inclement weather conditions j there was a large attendance of j buyers and bidding was exceptionally 1 keen, almost everything: being l disposed of. Prices were:—Beef cattle: Fat cows £5 9s to £7, others £3 10s to £5, fresh-conditioned cows to £2, store cows £1 to £1 15s, bulls £5 to £8; a pedigree Friesian bull brought £ls 15s. Dairy cattle: 15-months Friesian heifers £8 ss, other smaller sorts £4 10s to £5 15s, Jersey-cross heifers £-1 17s Gd to £5 15s, Shorthorn heifers £2 2s to £4 6s, others £1 5s to £2. All the above were empty heifers. Dairy cows £5 to £ll, others £3 to £4, dairy heifers to £lO. Sheep: Fat ewes £L 15s. Pigs: Weaners 13s Gd to £!. slips £1 9s to £1 14s.
