USUAL MEETING. The usual meeting' of the Matamata Farmers' Union took place on Satur- • day night. Present: Messrs. H. Ilolleit (president), A. and E. Bowler, <W. Crabb, J. Cranswick, W. Livingstone, G. Johnston, J. Price and J. W. Simpson. j SPEYING COWS. ! It was decided to write to Messrs. J. E.* Martin (Ngongotaha) and Alex--1 ai.uer (inspector Stock Department) , fc." their respective opinions re the 1 efficiency of certain treatment. Further, it was decided to write to the firm operating asking how many cows it would require before coming' into ' tho district, and what fee per cow it would require, on the understanding that its representatives paid their ; own travelling expenses. | SALE YARDS. i It was resolved that the Town Board 1 be asked to give the matter of the suggested removal of the sale yards I careful re-consideration, in the event !of the yards being brought into a , sanitary condition in accordance with . the requirements of the Health Department. Also that the question of a long tenure be brought under review. With this end in view it was i further carried that a petition be pre- ! pared, circulated and ultimately pre-, j sented to the Board. I In addition it was decided that the I auctioneering companies be advised of I the steps being taken by the branch ' and asked whether in the event of the ; Health Department allowing the yartte to remain where they are, provided certain conditions are carried out, whether the companies would be prepared to carry out such conditions.
