A PUKETURUA BANKRUPTCY.
GOOD SOLDIERS, POOR TRADESMEN. i " According to the papers the bankrupts are able to pay 2d in the £," remarked His Honour, when Mr. William C. Hewitt applied for the .discharge from bankruptcy before Mr. Justice Stringer at Hamilton on Saturday of Claude F. McLisky and Frank Woolliams, storekeepers, of Puketurua. > His Worship added that these youngmen, who were both unmarried returned soldiers, lost £I4OO of their creditors' money in two years. Mr. Hewitt: They were good soldiers, Your Honour, but bad tradesmen.
His Honour said he certainly did not feel disposed to put bankrupts in a position to enter business again, for some time, at any rate, and he would suspend discharge for a period of three years.
