The proposal is the outcome of negotiations by tho clubs and a, conference held in Auckland on Friday, at which the Minister for Internal Affairs (Hon. W. Downle Stewart) was present. It is understood that a license is available through having been forfeited by another dub. The members of. the various, clubs will no doubt view the situation with gratification. This should add a fillip to the Matamata Club’s canvass for life members, for. with a fair response to this and a probable revenue from the race-meet-ing, the cliib’s finances will be considerably improved. |
