CURTAILMENT OF TRAINS.
The New Time Table. We have received from the Railway Department' tho re-ar-ranged time-table which came into force on Wodnesday, which is as follows : To Matamata and Rotorua there is cue train a day leaving Morrinsville at 2.55, arriving at Matamata at 4.5 p.m., and Rotorua at 7.45 p.m. The only train from tho Rotorua line in tho day leaves Rotorua at 6 a.m., leaving Matamata at 9.50 a.m., arriving at Morrinsville at 11 a.m.
To the Thames the "express" runs through on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, leaving Morrinsville at 3.10 p.m. On Tuesdays and Fridays there is one daily train from Frankton arriving Morrinsville at 8.53 and leaving at 9.3. On tho same days the train runs back to Frankton in tho evening from the Thames arriving at Morrinsville at 7.12 and leaving at 7.20 p.m. The goods traffic is also to be limited. Live stock is to be limited to animals required by butchers for slaughter to meet local consumption. Presumably if a farmer buys stock at a clearing or any other sale ho cannot have the beast taken over the .railway. Lime, manures and chaff consigned to farmers will bo carried, but the quantity must bo limited to the minimum to cover bare necessities. Posts, stakes, wire, seeds and agricultural machinery are to be conveyed, but nothing i 3 said about timber. Foodstuffs of all sorts, household requisites, etc., receive preference. Beer, wines and spirits will not be carried. Quite how far general merchandise is affected is difficult to say. _______________
