PUKETURUA

Mr T. J. Reed, of Hinuera, 'opened the school at Puketurua on Tuesday. The school had heen closed for five weeks following on the resignation of Miss Peters and the winter holidays. When Miss Peters velinguished her charge, she was entertained at a social and made th« recipient of a purse of money. Mr Reed opened school with a roll number of 30 in a building which has accommodation for 40 pupils. Mr H. Lipcombe sold 14 acres of turnips to a Matamata farmer for £6 an acre. Fifty cows are now grazing on the property. Mr H. Feisst has taken over Mr D. T. Nathan's farm of 3077 acres at Puketurua and is working hard to bring the area under cultivation.
