ON THE SCREEN.

The Face in the Dark. An absorbing mystery, effective suspense, and a delightful love theme are the outstanding features of the outstanding Goldwyn production “The Face in the Dark ” which is to be screened at Matamata on Saturday. Mae Marsh has the leading role and the play gives her the best opportunity for emotional acting which she has had since “ Polly of the Circus.” The story centres round a bank robbery and as her lover is arrested on suspicion she busies herself to try and trace the real culprit since she is quite convinced that her lover cannot possibly be the guilty man. It is a picture without a dull moment and will be certain to please everyone who sees it. The fourteenth instalment of “The Fatal Ring” and a Gaumont graphic will complete an all-star programme.
