METEOROLOGICAL.
The rainfall for the month of May, recorded by Mr F. Shannon, at ' Tirau, was 4.36 inches, on eight days. The maximum flfall was 2.32 inches on May 18th. The rainfall for the corresponding month of the previous year was 2.73 . inches. For the first five months of this year the fall was only 13.91 inches, as against 21.74 inches for the period in 1918.
