OKOROIRE.

A thoroughly representative meeting of settlers was held at Okoroire on Friday last, and was addressed by Messrs Parlane and Daniell. The addresses were based on a proposal to build a cheese and casein factory at Okoroire, which proposal was very well received. It was unanimously decided that a factory be erected under the management of the New Zealand Dairy Association, Ltd. The shares for over 1000 cows were signed up for in the room, and it was stated that the factory would be ready to commence operations at the beginning of next season. Messrs J. Nicholson (chairman), T. G. Symons, W. Bowers, J. Watson and E. R. Worth were elected a local committee.
