11 Convict 993." Roslyn Ayre (Irene Castle) number 993 in the women's prison breaks jail and makes a successful getaway. Later she is seen living in affluence, wooed by Travers (Harry Benhim), wealthy society man. A prison mate, Neva Stokes (Helene Chadwick), on her release, encounters Roslyn and, being a member of a gang of crooks operated by Mallory (Warner Oland), blackmails her into joining in a job. It is Mallory's plan to rob a wealthy women of her jewels at Roslyn's house party. Smitten by the girl he suggests that they double cross the gang and make off with the loot by themselves. Roslyn, obviously entering into the whole scheme, only because forced to do so, agrees. The jewels secured, Mallory and she attempt escape but are appraised by the remaining members of the band who claim their share. It is not until then that Roslyn reveals herself as a detective' and turns the whole gang over to the police. This great drama, with a 2,000 ft. Keystone comedy, and a Pathe Gazette will be screened at Matamata, on Saturday.
