MATAMATA RED CROSS.
The September meeting of the Red Cross guild was held in the Town hall on Thursday 12th, and as usual was well attended. Afternoon tea was provided by Mesdames Kelso and Kusabs. During the afternoon a motion of ._ sympathy (the ladies all standing) was passed to Mr and Mrs Barugh, Mr and Mrs Bullock, ■whose sons were killed in action in France, and to Mr and Mrs Dawson, whose brother also was killed in action in France. The box packed at the close of the meeting contained the following : 26 pyjama suits, 12 shirts, 12 pillow slips, 5 bed jackets, 24 handkerchiefs, 2 many-tailed bandages, 5 face cloths, 6 Red Cross bags, 2 balaclavas, 1 pair socks, 5 eye bandages, 12 roller bandages. Included from Turanga -o - moana, 6 Red Cross bags, 3 face cloths, 3 roller bandages, 5 pyjama suits, 3 shirts.
