.PIERRETTE CONCERT. . A very enjoyable and; artistic concert, organised by Miss Ring, was held in the Hinuera hall on Thursday evening before a large audience. A special feature was the singing and dancing of the ■■ Novelty Girls,” Mrs Bond, Miss Ring, Miss A. Ring and Miss Hartnett. : The-girls thoroughly knew their i business, and their items were deservedly- popular. The singing of Mrs Bond was also greatly appreciated, while the other singers did well. .Most of the accompaniments were played by Mrs Darby (piano), Mr. Darby (violin) and Mr J. Gumming (cornet). The programme was: —Overture by Mr'Darby’s orchestra; songs, Mr Pannett; recitations, Mr Bunn; pianoforte solo, Mrs Hayes; songs, Mr Dent; song, “ Moonstruck,” Mrs Bond and chorus; solo fancy dance, Miss A. Ring; song, “ God Defend New Zealand,” Miss Hartnett ; “ Kathleen :<Mavourneen ”, and encore Mrs K Bond; “ The . Long, Long Trail,” Miss Hartnett. and chorus ; “ Annie Laurie,” I Mrs Bond and chorus; “ Pack i up your Troubles in your Old Kit Bag,” chorus. At the conclusion of the concert the Art Union for the two-year filly by Wauchope —lota, donated by Mr
W. Ring, was drawn;' The lucky number was held by Master Norman Bruce, of \ Hamilton. A tasty supper, was handed round, and the floor then given over to dancing. Mr J. Hayes was an efficient M. 0., rwhile the music played by the orchestra was of the usual merit. . . - \
