WALTON.

We are enjoying a few much needed fine days, and the country is beginning to show some prospect of spring. We are anxiously looking for some growth as cattle are generally in low condition owing to the hard winter. During the last week the canvassers far the Red Cross have been busy and so far met with a ready response to their appeal. On Friday night the school children are giving an evening consisting of games, competitions, etc., the proceeds to go to the Red Cross fund.
