TURANGA-O-MOANA.
A dance, in support of the candidature of the blue queen, Mrs Harding, was held in the Turanga-o-moana hall on Friday. There was a good attendance and the floor being good a most enjoyable evening was spent. Between the dances a guessing competition was held for a cake given by Mrs Maisey. Mis 3 Grenville, Okauia, was the winner, with the guess of 81b 13s OZ3. The cake was handed back for auction, .and was knocked down to Mr Grenville at £1 6s. Music was supplied by Mr Inglam, and an extra was nicely played by Miss A. Harding. Mr H. Maisey has been spending a short holiday with his parents at Kenilworth. On August the 2nd the children of Turanga-o-Moana held a concert in the schoolroom, which was much appreciated by parents and friends. Recitations were given by the elder girls. Choruses were rendered by all scholars in very good form. Afterwards tea was served in the Turanga-o-moana hall, and much enjoyed, a good number being present. The proceeds were in aid of the Blue Queen.
