Matamata Branch's Work Although the weather was so wet and cold, a fair number of ladies gathered in the Town hall on Thursday afternoon, to receive the work done during the month and to pack the box for Auckland. Mrs A. R. Vosper provided afternoon tea. The Red Cross shop, which was opened on Wednesday June sth proved a great success, and brought the society in the sum of £66 9s 6d. The ladies took the opportunity of thanking all those who so kindly helped by donations of cash, produce, needle work, preserves, etc. The box packed contained the following:—B pyjama suits, 20 shirts, 9 flannel shirts, 6 knrtted chest-o-back protectors, 6 pairs invalid slippers, 2 pairs deck slippers, 6 Red Cross bags, 20 eye bandages, 7 bed jackets, 12 towels, 18 pillowslips, 3 pairs socks, 1 knitted waist-coat. Included from Turanga-o-moana, 1 pyjama suit, 7 shirts, 9 flannel shirts, 6 knitted chest-o-back protectors, 6 pairs invalid slippers 2 pair deck slippers, 6 Red Cross bags, 7. eye bandages.
