Matamata Club Formed. A meeting of men interested in the formation of a bowling club was held in the Farmers’ Union hall, last week, seventeen attending. Mr J. Price was elected to the chair. Most discussion took place on the question as to whether land should be procured privately, or part of the Domain be used for a green. There was only one advocate of the former, while several spoke in favor of the Domain land. It was unanimously decided that a Matamata Bowling club be formed, and Messrs J. Price, W. H. R. Free, W. Gale, R. Hope, C. Wallace, M. Blackburn, H. Kelso, and G. G. Bell were appointed a committee to attend to preliminary details.
