“ TRANSGRESSION ” A strong story of modern city life is unfolded in “ Transgression,” the greater Yitagraph feature play to be screened at Matamata on Saturday. Earl Williams portrays a man who has been successful in life, and occupies the leading position in his town. Through a strange set of circumstances he comes upon his young brother apparently the author of a hideous murder. Swiftly, the elder sets about removing all traces of the crime. Later in life his action becomes known to some members of the unscrupulous political gang that he is endeavoring to chase out of the country. His awful predicament is complicated by the fact that he is engaged to the daughter of the Crown Prosecutor. Corrinne Griffith, a new Yitagraph star, makes her debut in this great drama, and she will soon be a popular idol. The programme is completed with a strikingly funny Keystone, entitled “ Film Exposure ”; a Gaumont Topical and a Pathe Scenic.
