MATAMATA A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
Executive Meeting. An executive meeting of the Matamata A. and P. Association was held on Thux’sday. The president, Mr I. H. McNair occupied the chair and there were also present Messrs E. and F. Bowler, S. Gunn, J. Pohlen, A. Ferguson, E. C. Banks, M. Madill, J. Cranswick, J. W. Simpson, J. Price, H. E. Porritt and the secretary, Mr B. Blennerhassett. BEST TYPE OF HUNTER. Mr A. Selby, Auckland, a judge at the previous show, wrote offering to donate his last year’s expenses towards a prize for the best type of hunter, from twelve to fourteen stone, or over. The secretary informed the meeting that an additional guinea had been donated by Mr W, Eastwood. SHOW LUNCHEON. The secretary of the Matamata branch of the Red Cross wrote stating that the members of the branch could not see their way clear to carry out the luncheon arrangements for this year’s show. The chairman said he was sorry that the ladies had declined. The secretary said he had heard unofficially that the ladies of neighboring branches also declined to act. It was decided to call tenders for the rights to conduct booths. MATAMATA TECHNICAL SCHOOL. It was decided to donate £2 2s towards the cost of the upkeep of the Matamata Technical school. The president was appointed the association’s representative on the advisory committee. JUDGES. Various judges were nominated to officiate at the forthcoming show.
