Wellington, July 20. It is understood that Government have received a favorable cable from the delegates sent home in regard to the East and West Coast Railway (Middle Island). Timaru, July 19. It was currently reported in town yesterday afternoon that a patch of very promising alluvial gold land has been struck at Kakahu, a few miles north of Timaru.
