PRESENTATIONS.
On Thursday a largo number of mothers residing in St John’s parish, Woolston, met at afternoon tea to bid farewell to the Rev W. H. Orbell and Mrs Orbell, who are leaving Woolston for Papanui. During the afternoon Mrs Gatehouse, on behalf of the Woolston Branch' of the Mothers’ Union, presented Mrs Orbell with an easy chair. At the Tinwald Swimming Club’s concert held on Thursday evening Mr R.\A. Pearse presented Mr James Cow, president of the club, with a split-second stop-watch, subscribed for by the committee and club members as an appreciation of the esteem in which he is held by the members. Mr G. T. Robinson, representing the Christchurch swimmers, also referred in appreciative terms of Mr Cow’s work as a starter.
