PORT OF LONDON.

REBATES. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. LONDON, February 26. Mr M’Bride brought under Mr Harcourt’a notice the Port of London’s practice of granting rebates and discriminating against the small importer, and asked for an annulment of the power to grant rebates. Mr HarCourt lias submitted the question to the Board of Trade.

(Mr J. H. Estill, colonial superintendent of the Port of London Authority, when seen in Christchurch last night, said that the question raised did not affect New Zealand meat, as rebates on meat had been abolished last month. The storage rates on meat were on a flat basis, and the small importer paid exactly the same as the large importer.)
