PANAMA EXHIBITION.

WELLINGTON, February 26. Representatives of Agricultural and Pastoral Associations and Chambers of Commerce in all centres of the dominion conferred with. Mr Massey this morning on the subject of the dominion’s representation at the Panama Exhibition.
Mr Massey stated that the Government; had voted £15,000 towards the project, and the New Zealand court was now being prepared., He considered this a unique opportunity to take advantage of recent changes in the American tariff. The Prime .Minister stated also that native New Zealand trees and shrubs were being planted on the site in San Francisco. , The following resolutions were arrived at: “That the Department of Agriculture act as a New Zealand executive committee for the Panama exposition with Mr O’Brian as ..secretary ”; “ That central committees be formed in Auckland, New Plymouth, Napier, Palmerston North, Wellington, Nelson, Blenheim, Greymouth, Christchurch, Timaru, Oamaru, Dunedin and Invercargill, with power to' arrange for other committees where necessary”; “That central committees oonsist of representatives of Chambers of Commerce, Agricultural and Pastoral' Associations' and Industrial Associations, and that everything possible be done to provide thoroughly representative exhibits of the primary products and manufactures of the dominion.”.
