CYCLING.

TEMUKA CLUB. A meeting of the committee of the Temuka Bioycle Club was: hold on | Monday evening;, present—Messrs F. A. Joynt (president, in the chair), W. F. Evans, W. Spillane, G. Langford, G. Thomson, W. M’Callum, George Collins and W. J. Keys (secretary). The question of the proposed Brass Band Quickstep competition in conjunction with the Easter Sports meeting was discussed, and it was decided to communicate with certain bands and find out whether they proposed to take part in the contest. A proposal to ascertain the terms on which Mr Scotland would give an aeroplane flight was referred to the secretary. The secretary stated that the first of the series of junior road races had resulted as follows: —C. C. Swaney 1, Somorfield 2, J. R. Moore 3 and fastest time. The dates for the next races were altered and will now take place a week later.

The Waimairi Cycle Club held a road race at Papanui last evening over a course '•of eight miles. The' result was as follows: —W. Waller 1. G. Goodall 2, ,L. E. Smith 3, E. Dass 4. Time—22mm. ' G. Goodall put up the fastest time, doing the distance in 19min 18sec.
