NAVY NOT NEEDED.

NO MENACE FROM JAPAN

PROFESSOR JORDAN'S DECLARA-

TION. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright, SYDNEY, February 25.

Professor David Starr Jordan, Chancellor of Leland Stanford University, :n America, who has lectured in various countries on the utter futility of warfare, has arrived. Interviewed, he said, "You have not the slightest need for an Australian navy, • nor, for that matter, an army, except for some moral purpose. " For a very small sum I will undertake to ensure Australia against a Japanese invasion. Australia has no more reason to fear anything from Japan than she has from Denmark."
